About Moreeb Dune

Moreeb Dune, also known as Tal Moreeb, is an extensive sand dune located in the Liwa Oasis area of the Empty Quarter desert (Rub' al Khali) in the United Arab Emirates. It is considered one of the tallest sand dunes in the world, reaching heights of over 300 meters (almost 1,000 feet). Its name, "Moreeb," translates to "terrifying" in Arabic, which gives you an idea of its imposing presence.

The dune is a popular destination for Adventure, camping experience and off-road driving enthusiasts. Every year and during the winter, it hosts the Liwa International Festival, where locals and tourists gather to witness thrilling races and competitions with various types of vehicles, including 4x4s, motorcycles, and even Horse racing, camels, and falconry.

The festival offers a range of activities and attractions, including traditional Bedouin performances, cultural displays, and food stalls. It celebrates Emirati heritage and showcases the desert's unique beauty and challenges.
