The 16 days festival that come around once a year attracts the region’s most powerful four wheel drives and bikers to face exciting challenges including cars race, bikes race, motocross track challenge, camel race, horse race, car sand stunt and Moreeb track for freestyle drifting.

The highlight feature of the festival is the adventurous race to the top of one of the world’s highest sand hills – the Moreeb Dune, which means ‘Terrifying Mountain’. At over 300m high and with a 50° angle, the dune will be contested over various categories for different car and bike types.

This festival offers a week-long celebration of UAE heritage with competitions and activities including bike riding and camping in the desert of Moreeb Dune.

Visitors and participants attending the festival and races are provided with all facilities and services to make camping and accommodations in the Moreeb Dune a unique and extraordinary experience by the organisers.

This year the festival includes several events and different sports activities including:
FreeStyle Drift, Liwa Dift EDC, Falcon Race, UTV Race, Camel Race, Horse Race,, Car stunt, bike racing . Moreeb dune car race , from 26/12/2019 until 10/01/2020

As a part of UAE 45th National day celebration, Al Gharbia Sports club organizes UAE National Day Sport Festival.

The festival involves three competitions:

Day1:
•The first ever freestyle car stunt on the sand dunes of Moreeb dune. Rallies of drivers climb the sand dunes performing tricky stunts in 4×4 cars.
Time: 3:00 pm

Day2: 
•The first-ever Liwa Fat bike challenge in Moreeb dune for 12km course that will test the participants skills and strength.
Time: 2:00 pm
• In addition, the second round of freestyle drift season for 4×4 cars, performing the donuts and burnouts, controlling the traction and more in such safe environment.
Time:  7:00 pm

The drive takes place in the second week of January

The festival is organised by the Cultural Programmes and Heritage Festivals Committee Abu Dhabi in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Sailing & Yacht Club and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council  and the Liwa sports club.

The festival site features varied and diverse races, swimming, beach volleyball and beach football, as well as a number of exceptional heritage activities that are closely related to the marine environment.

In addition to sporting events and prizes, the festival offers a Traditional Market, children’s activities, heritage performances, and theatre competitions.
